I find it incredibly stressful and frustrating to believe that military housing gives insufficient information and lacks professional etiquette. My husband got his orders and had a two week time period to get cleared. Housing set up a date for inspection two days later. The woman who came to inspect the house gave us an estimate for damages and we were left to financially figure ourselves out. It is now four days before we clear and he went to pay housing for the damages on our home but was notified that we had not given them a thirty day notice. Upon the same visit, we were told that we had to pay an extra months rent because when we moved in we had only paid for one day of the month we were moving in leaving us a month behind completely. The woman who gave us the inspection also told us that we failed to give them a notice. It is completely and utterly disrespectful to assume we would have thirty days full notice, especially in a military installation where soldiers and their families frequently move in shorter amounts of time, and have the full $1100 to pay off the damages and housing. After this all, we are left in a financial frustration trying to figure how we can move and have money to stabilize ourselves. I am completely appalled at not only housing but the military for not being organized and damaging my husband and I financially.
