Cory Colvin is the landlord I used to rent from. I am a single mother to three children. I only lived in his dueplex for one year.

When I moved in my unit I had no idea I was going to have to deal with flooding in my bacement living room and the lack of concern for the safty on the property.

My home started to get broken into and my kids toys were getting stolen or broken. I've had my patio swing burnt to the ground and my car stolen and wrecked. Our pool was trashed as well as our swingset, bunny hutch, back deck and my van tires.

That's not even saying what my children went through. I've had the school security at the bus stop, cops respond to house, and this was all to another family living in the complex.

There was one family in particular and their five children (and a three of their childrens friends) that were the ones behind it.

It was on Cory Colvin's advice that I made all those reports to the school system and to the police. When the year lease was up, and the police were finally making enough connection to take action, Cory Colvin gave ME a notice to vacate. Not the family causing the problems.

Now I wasn't the only family to be targeted either. There was two other family who moved out after I did for the same reasons from the same family.

So okay, I can just forgive his unwillingness to do anything about this family. Whenever anyone said something to the parents or kids the responce was the same: "you just hate us cause we're black", or "you can't touch us cause we're black.".

What I can't get over is I've gone ahead and moved anyway despite I had every legal right to stay and that was almost one year ago. I have left a forewarding address, my number, and contacted Cory Colvin by mail on numerous occasions and he has just ignored my attempts to retrive my security deposite back.

How do you fight someone who hids behind silence and other people? How do people get away with taking advantage of others and get all the rewards because of their color? People on housing are suposed to be treated fairly arn't they?
