I went to Costco in Burbank  on 1/21/20 and wanted to change my wireless service from Verizon to AT&T but the person in charge made me to wait for one hour and still not able to switch my phone. I am very disappointed this sales man asked me 5-6 times for my social security and asked and kept my ATM debit card for over 15 minutes not sure if these guys are legit.

then after I called one of the managers I found that this Kiosk (Wireless Advocates) does not belong to Costco. If I knew this in advance I was never going to deal with this kind of vendors. My cell phone was not working for 24 hours and I had to pay AT&T even though I never swtiched to AT&T.

Since I had this complaint, I am receiving a spam calls 3 to 4 times a day.

It Isn't Just That Costco

In every Costco, there is a Wireless Advocates area/kiosk.  They are not a part of Costco - had you looked this up on the Costco website, and wanted to see the cell phones on the website, it would have taken you off of the Costco website.

Now, I have been at that Costco and that kiosk is a zoo all of the time.  However, the problem is that the Advocates' employees have a commission element to their compensation, which is different than the other Costco employees in that location, who are part of the Teamsters Union.  As a result, their objective is to sell phones and the plan to go with it.  If you're looking to go there to switch plans, you are not going to have the same priority as someone interested in buying a phone.

BTW, AT&T sucks in that general area.  Verizon is much better.  Just saying.
