Cottman transmission is the ripoff business that doesn't give a dam. St Charles, Missouri
My trany broke after 152,000 miles. I took it to Cottman and they estimated it to cost $1,500.00 to rebuild. Next day they called back and said it would cost about $500.00 more. We agreed, a week later it was done. Shortly we found out that they left off a pipe hanger on the exhoust, we took it back to get it fixed.
They said that they would not do anything for us. It cost us $50.00 to get it fixed elswhere. 21,000 miles and 2 1/2 years later the front seal went out and now we have a leak. I took it back only to find out that they changed owners and they wanted $500.00 to fix my leak. I called the home office and explained that the trany lasted 152,000 miles originaly, why wont their rebuild last any longer than 21,000.
They said that I was out of luck since I'm past the warrantee period and that they would not do anything for me. Why would a company not want to make good on a bad repair? Instead of spending $500 to keep me happy, they now will lose more than $500 in loos of future customers. I would not recomend them to anyone for repairs.
