This shop owner sells parts such as torque converters and electronics in their transmission jobs, but paints the old converter and reruns the old electronics. Berates employees and threatens them with termination and witholds pay for not complying with this fraud.

Owner has a pattern of misrepresentation and fraud. Has brought in help from out of town and failed to pay expenses as promised. When forced to perform, he fabricates stories negative to the reputation of his employees. This crook needs to do time.

Owes one employee $1000, and another $8000. Where are the cops and the attorney general?

We contacted owner 6/30, gave the info - no response as of 7/13. We wrote a letter to Carol Iacullo in Customer Relations at home office (received 6/6) with NO response ~ what a waste of paper!

Now, recently informed by a shop that we have a leak in the rebuilt transmission that we did NOT need in the first place!

Prepared to go to the mat on this one!

Pam,
I'm the owner of the center, I would like to help you resolve the problem with the service preformed on your vehicle. Call me 623-556-2656, I'll return your call ASAP. I need to know the report order number to get started on this.

This ripe off report has been submitted by 2 disgruntled ex-employees, Ken Harden, center manager, who you may have dealt with and Chris Meyer. Both employees have been terminated and are being procuted to the fullest extent of the law for theft.

Who gave you the information? A fired ex-employee, perhaps?

If you saw this being done it is a real crime, punishable by law. I'm talking about the re-painted converters being installed. Do you know this for a fact? The reason I ask is that the shops could have re-builders on-site. The cut the converter open, rebuild it, re-weld it and paint it right there. Or, they'll send it to a shop that does this and swap yours for one that's already been rebuilt and put on the shelf. It's always a good move to install a "new" converter when you have the transmission done, and a re-built unit can even be better than the new ones, but most people are too cheap to pay for it, or later on say they were ripped off. What kind of dumb-a** would let a boss not pay him to the tune of 8 grand? I'd kick his butt the first time I was $100 short. Please explain further.

Please contact me if you can.....the very month of your complaint, we had our transmission rebuilt at this very Cottman in mid-April. It's a long story, but we truely feel there was fraud involved.

We are currently disputing the charges on our credit card and have sent a letter to Carol in Customer Service at their headquarters. We don't expect for this fight to go easy...we're going to take it step by step until we are satisfied (paying them zero!!).

If you could contact me somehow, It would help to have more information to help us strengthen our case.

Employees need to file a wage claim!

#6Consumer Suggestion

It is illegal for any employer to withhold any of an employees pay that has not been previously authorized by the employee in writing.

It is theft. If you earned it, he needs to pay it. Period.

The Cops and the AG office are not the point of enforcement here. You need to file a wage claim with the wage and hour division of the labor board.

Then the illegal activities need to be reprted to the Consumer Affairs Division of the AG's office. They will set up a sting operation if they get enough consumers complaining.
