Cottman Transmission rip-off scam liars Houston Texas

Cottman Transmission was unable to fix my transmission during a 4 month period in which they had possession of my van 80% of the time.

After months of painful dealings with Cottman Transmission (Jack Charrin, owner and Jim Stephens, manager), it became apparent Cottman was incapable of making the appropriate repairs.

I took my van to Shine Transmission. The owner was not only honest and customer focused but he is on the Board of Directors for ATRA. He discovered Cottman had put the wrong gear part in the van.

I filled a small claims lawsuit and won a judgement of over $2000.00. Cottman Transmission, owned and operated by Jack L. Charrin still refuses to comply with the orders of the court. I may never see the money he owes me.

corporate arrogance, stubbornness, and lies have turned me into a pro-legislation activist

Mike - I wish you well, but may I suggest that part of the advertising budget ($675 per week according to franchiselife dotcom) be used to give some direct relief and closure to those customers who did not fare well due to no fault of their own. Believe me, they will spread the word! My original dispute w Cottman was over $1000 bucks but the corporate arrogance, stubbornness, and lies have turned me into a pro-legislation activist that may well succeed in getting some tougher laws passed in several states that will put the incompetent/dishonest shops out of business for good.

Jackie~~~~~The way to collect is~~~File a writ of execution with your judgement~~~have a till tap enforced = this is where the sheriff sits there all day an collects all the money that comes in that day until the judgement is satified including the money for the sheriff to sit there an collect it.~~~~~Now your spending the shops money not yours~~~~~~or ~~~~~you can get an order of examination~~~this one brings them to you to answer questions like~~~bank acct #~~~~assets~~etc~~~~~then get a writ of execution and have the sheriff take the assets to pay the judgement~~~~~if you sued the owner personally and there are no assets (i doubt this) you can file a abstract of judgement so anytime they aquire property (land) you wll be notified by escrow an it will have to be paid or no sale.~~The abstracts are good for ten years and you can renew it prior to the expiration for a nutha 10 years~~~~so this can go on forever`~~~~~~The more you say the more i can tell you~~~~~~THE TRANZMN

U pay, either way!

#13Consumer Comment

I have no idea what the success ratio is for Cottman repairs but from what I can gather from my own experience and the accounts of others, you will pay either way. If they can't figure out what is wrong with your car and they dispense bad advice, they cover themselves by excluding enough items to virtually guarantee that they have fulfilled their end of the "contract". If you read the fine print very carefully, they are not qualified to attempt repairs on anything more advanced than a modern horse-drawn surry. The fringe will also get grease marks!
