I took my Sentra to Cottman's on 8/17/01. I was told I needed a rebuilt transmission. I had the transmission rebuilt for $1687.00 and two days later I had transmission fluid all over my driveway. I returned the car for another four days. I was told the seal needed to be replaced.

Two days later, it was leaking again. Again, returned my car. Recieved a call it was fixed. Again leaking. I called Cottman's and no one answered. I continued to call, no one ever answered.

I then called the "Internationl Customer Relations" department to discover the Cottman shop was no longer open. I advised Vanessa of my problem. She stated she would call me back after speaking to her manager Carol. I never recieved a call.

I called several times after that only to be told that my car would need to be towed at my expense to the nearest Cottman's to be fixed or my warranty would be voided.

The closest Cottmann's is 0ver 150 miles. Averages out to a $300.00 towing bill. I was hung up on by their Customer relations department several times.

The customers relations department will not allow another mechanic to fix the car or it voids my warranty. It is now November and I have a $1687.00 bill to pay and still have no clue what is wrong with the transmission they rebuilt.

I asked for a refund and was told I would have to get it from the shop that is now closed. Please do not take your car to any Cottmann Transmission.

Carol, how can you say that you give customer service when the customer has to keep paying to take care of the warranty??

CAROL~~~~~~~ A shop or business that really wants to keep their name clean will take care of the customer NO MATTER WHAT~~~~ This is the reason that in the last 2-3years i have seen 3 three cottman "NEW" franchise shops FAIL each with an average loss of at least 200,000 they were located in fremont/San Rafael/richmond~~~~The only one still open is in San Ramon California~~~~~The only reason that he still open is because its a small shop very small~~~~~~~An he does general repair to keep going after all the shops have failed and he has to do over all the comebacks at a loss to him~~~~~~COTTMAN is not interested in how a shop does after the franchise fee is paid and the gouging an lies to the poor person who puts out their money to make a change using your proven methods of SUCCESS~~~~THE TRANZMN
