Cottman Transmission Ripoff! Fraudulent activities. Camp Hill Pennsylvania
These people ripped me off by taking my transmission out, servicing it and reinstalling it. They may have also changed the torque converter which was going bad. They charged me almost $3400.00 and claimed I got a hell of deal even though the very highest competitive price through a GM dealer in Harrisburg was no more than $2500 and that was an authentic GMC transmission replacement.
When I got home to Michigan I discovered that they pulled this scam on me. They also refused to let me inspect my bad parts and also to give me back my supposed defective parts even though I was more than willing to pay the core fee. They has refused to settle the dispute and complaint which was filed with Pennsylvania's Attorney General's office.
I am a quadreplegic and these people took advanatage of my situation knowing that I had no other form of transportation and that I had to get back home asap. I have also discovered that, in my opinion, Cottman has a terrible reputation around the country, some Michigan Cottman shops have been shut down and that this location has had several complaints filed against it since a new owner took over three years ago. These people were dishonest with me and have ripped me off.
I would absolutly recommend that you beware of any Cottman location. When I called their corporate office they hung up as soon as I mentioned the word complaint saying that "all our stores are franchised". They claim at their web site they they have a great reputation and stand by a code of ethics but I found that those claims are just false advertising.
