John Anthony, Dispatcher for Cross Country Auto Transport, verbally quoted a price of $595.00 to transport my vehicle from Centennial, CO to Tucson, AZ.  The oral statement was followed up with an email message that gave the move reference number.  Furthermore, on the message it stated that the final price, which included all taxes, tolls, full insurance coverage and the best door-to-door service in the business, was $595.00.  Also, a $100.00 deposit had to be made up front with the $495.00 remaining balance due upon delivery of my auto.  When the vehicle arrived the transport driver said $550,00 (a difference of $55.00) was due otherwise he wouldn't unload the auto.  In addition, he produced a dispatch sheet from the transport company that listed the COD price of $550.00.

Cross Country engaged in price fraud to get the order to transport my vehicle.  Obviously, as the shipper, who needed his vehicle for transportation when it arrived, was caught between a rock and a hard place, and had no choice but to pay the transport driver the higher cost.
