Country Lady Antiques Mary Spencer and Adam Spencer Misrepresented the products on their website, sold me something different than I thought I had paid for, and were rude and extremely difficult when I tried to return it; refused to refund my money center ossipee, New Hampshire
The item I bought from Country Lady Antiques was not anything like what the listing said it was, when I bought it online. When it arrived, it was totally different, maybe even a different item altogether, and I was unhappy with it. I tried to contact Country Lady Antiques multiple times through e-mail and phone, and even tried to leave a comment on Mary Spencer's historical costume blog, where she talks about the stuff she is trying to sell, and it appears she just deleted it. They refused to refund me, even though I was unhappy with the product, and they were extremely rude and accusatory. I also found out that the products they're selling are not all historic or originals, and they even try to sell used, modern products, pass them off as something old or "one of a kind," when they're just manufactured - they sell them for a much higher price, and obscure the company name, so you don't know what you're getting when you buy it. They are just gouging you on price. The worst part is that you can't get in contact if you want to return or even if you just have a question. They say "all sales final" on the website, which is fine, except that what they are selling you is not what you think you bought. That's a very serious issue with the BBB!
If you are reading this report, please take my advice and do not purchase from these people. The bad merchandise is one thing, but the way they treat you if you are unhappy with the product is really bad.

This is an entirely false report

I have never done business in any way with the person who filed this report. This was a person that we engaged several years ago to make something for us. They did not complete the job, but took our money and kept materials and items that we paid for and supplied and that belonged to us. We had to get their local police involved at the time in order to recover our items as they lived in another state. This person repeatedly files false reports against our business on sites and using various false names.
We never, ever sold this person anything, nor ever met in person. It is unfortunate that Ripoff Report allows people to make reports that are 100% lies.
As anyone can see, no specific item is mentioned. This is because THIS PERSON NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING FROM US. We can prove with documentation, every single item we have ever sold, and they have no receipt to prove they bought anything, so they of course cannot name something.

Denial Is Your Answer?

Just the fact that these people completely deny that there was a problem at all is really upsetting. If a customer isn't happy with the product they buy okay maybe no refund but can they at least respond to my e-mail or my phone call or trying to leave a comment on their site? This rebutle just make the entire thing worse because they altogether just denied it happened at all? Is this how Country Lady Antiques is going to deal with they customers? Also, they call unhappy customer losers? I will never buy anything from them again, don't appreciate being ignored and called a loser because I to return it, and won't recomend them to anybody else I know.

A false report

You will notice immediately that this report is completely non-specific, and contains no pertinent details whatsoever. That is because it is a made-up report, done purely as a retaliatory gesture. This event never happened---not recently, and not in the past.
We have always been able to be contacted easily and have never had anyone email or call us and say anything remotely like what is reported here, much less demand to return an item. So authentic is our merchandise, that we have never had anyone ask for a refund in my many years of business. We lecture on period clothing and antiques as well, and I have been a teacher of a course on antiques in a community college at one time, and have ample evidence of all of this.
This person wrote this out of spite, and is not, and never has been, a customer of ours. Our only contact with this person had nothing to do with our business, and we had a bad experience with them, and had to involve the law. A copy of this has already been emailed to our attorney, to keep for future use against this individual, if necessary. Additionally, this is a jealousy-motivated attempt to hurt our business and us. It is laughable. We have literally hundreds of excellent references for every aspect of our business and can produce them on request to anyone interested.
We have just recently gotten 4 additional speaking programs/engagements/apperances, and are now booked through next November. My blog and our business is extremely popular, and we hear every day from loyal readers and customers.
Inside, this person knows that they are an immature phony and a loser, and nothing can change that. No one we know, or would do business with, or who had a brain in their head, would ever take this silly complaint seriously.
