Complaint Review: Countryside Mortgage Michael R. Lange

Others have written about Mike Lange and his firm Countryside Mortgage broker service in Arlington, Virginia on Rip Off Report. My story is sadly all too similar. To be brief, he quoted a mortgage rate lower than his competitors, but never came through.

Also check the Better Business Bureau, he has a record there.

Shortly before closing, and after he had taken my money for an appraisal on a property, he completely disappeared.

Did not return phone calls and emails from me, real estate agents, title company and even the bank that he had selected to underwrite the mortgage. I had to seek new financing at the last minute paying for a completely new appraisal and paying a higher interest rate because rates had risen since he "locked-in" a rate for me.

Do not be suckered by a low interest rate or you may pay a high price.
