Countrywide has all most 2000.00 dollars in my Escrow Acct. knowing that I don't pay property tax because I been with them for ten years or more.

I called five or more times an just get the round around. I'm paying about 200.00 dollars a month for taxes that I do not owe I can not get my money back from countrywide

They keep jerking me around. I don't like to be jerk around. Every time I call the loan officer in Pensacola,Fl.(Kris Waters)I get jerk off I'm sick of being jerk-off by a know good SOB,I hope you can get my money back.

Consumer Suggestion - Fellow Vet & Former Countrywide Customer

#3Consumer Comment

Wed, December 18, 2002

Dear Mr. Reddinger;

Please allow me to offer an additional suggestion or two. Each State has a State Attorney General's Office, which has a Dept. of Consumer Affairs (or equivalent). Many states also have a Dept. of Veterans Affairs. There are two things you could do: (1) Send a complaint letter to your State Attorney General's Office with a Copy of that same letter going to the company (President's Office). Send both letters delivery confirmation or certified mail.

(2)Request an appointment with Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Gather all the paperwork you can find that is related to the matter and bring it to the appopintment. They may be better able to advise you and could even possibly write a letter for you.

I used to be a Countrywide customer and I am preparing my own report. I am also a Veteran and I find it very aggravating to see one of our own be treated in such a rotten manner.

GOOD LUCK

#3Consumer Suggestion

Your mortgage company is not legally allowed to hold escrow -- this can get them in BIG trouble. I suggest that you get records together showing how you paid your homeowners insurance, property taxes, school taxes, etc and fax it to their research department. THen keep the fax transmittal sheet. They are legally supposed to respond in writing within 30 days.

If this does not get the job done, then I suggest you write a complaint with the same info you had faxed (and the transmittal sheet) addressed to the Vice President of the company. This usually gets the attention of the executive research team. They do not want bad publicity and want to maintain good consumer relations. Threaten to sue. If you are friends with an attorney have them write a letter.

When you call DEMAND to speak with a supervisor right away. REFUSE to give any of your account information to the first person you speak with. If you do not like what the supervisor has to say, DEMAND to talk with the manager. Keep going up the corporate ladder. ALWAYS keep track of day/time of calls and who you spoke with. Try to get the name of the CEO, Vice President, anything you can put on your letters to get this resolved.
