Countrywide Home Loans ripoff Palm Springs California
Country Wide had me pay off a debt on my credit report that was not mine. They had my credit report for 45 days, the day before my loan was to fund they insisted I pay off something that was in dispute for 6 yrs on my credit report. They want me to prove it from 6 yrs ago. How do you prove a negative. They make no scense when you speak to them, and could care less.
I am a Real Estate Broker and I would never use Country Wide for anything, nor when I ever refer clients to them.

#2Consumer Suggestion

Both parties appear to be in the wrong. As a consumer, before purchasing the home you should absolutely get a copy of all three of your credit reports and deal with any problems or errors.
COuntrywide perhaps failed to instruct you that a problem existed in a more timely manner (earlier), but it needs to be understood that the underwriting rules are that of the investor (Fannie mae, etc.) who buys your loan.
More info would be needed fromt he complainant to determine why they were alerted to the delinquent account so late. A very highly unusual event. CLearly other circumstances not being given here. I am an experienced mortgage banker, so I am not shooting from the hip here.
