I contracted with Countrywide Transport, Inc. to pick up my furniture from Florida on Friday, November 21, 2008. They sent an unmarked truck for pick up. Delivery was scheduled for December 1, 2008 to Pennsylvania.

After waiting for over a week, I was finally able to get a delivery date. The date came and went, no delivery. This pattern continued 5 times over the next 3 weeks. The delay, supposedly because the truck broke down. The company only has one truck?

Finally Zen Van Lines was hired by Countrywide to deliver the load. After 2 more false starts by Zen Van Lines, the day arrived. However, the truck overturned in transit.

My furniture was unloaded and placed on the snow covered ground for a period of 9 hours while waiting for another truck to pick it up. A Ryder truck was rented and the furniture finally arrived.

During this entire operation, Countrywide Transport made more excuses than could be counted, told more lies than I wanted to hear. The owner, Daniel, was very rude, gruff and impatient on the rare occasions I was actually able to talk to him.

My furniture was wet, snow covered, filthy, many items were damaged and several were ruined. Nothing was placed properly in my home and nothing was put back together.

With the truck half unloaded, the driver received a phone call from his boss, Paul, at Zen Van Lines telling him to stop unloading and put the rest in storage, unless I was willing to pay an additional $500.00 to make up for his loss caused by the accident.

I immediately called Countrywide Transport. I was told to call the police, but they wouldn't do anything. Then owner, Daniel, called the driver's boss, Paul, as the truck was leaving with half of my furniture still in it. In a few minutes, the truck did return and they finished unloading.

Both companies have been horrible to deal with and have no concern for the customer, only the money.
