I am writing to state the facts that County Financial is NO GOOD. In 2006 on 5 May i was task to deploy to Iraq for 8 months. I bought a 1995 BMW from a car dealership in sacramento off of riverside and douglas called AutoBy Moose. County financial services agreed to finance my loan and at the same time i was inexperience and was not soo good with all this rates and financing stuff. So when i was deployed to Iraq i was paying $297 a month on this BMW plus 300 dollars for insurance. My tags were soon to expire later on that year and due to last minutes deployments i had no time to renew my tags plus i thought that we were suppose to be back on time.

I got back from deployment on December 2006 and realize that my car was missing. I went to the front desk of my apartment complex and they had told me the name of the company that towed my car. I contacted the company about my vehicle and they told me that my car was towed in August and sold on September. I was very upset due to the fact that i was still paying for this car the whole time i was gone.

County financial charged me 20% on this loan and now they are still charging me on it. I was upset and i contacted them about my car and they were rude and being disrespectful. They threatened me that they were going to send someone out here to repo my car. I found it funny that they were aware of the situation but played it off like they didnt.

It is hard coming home from a long deployment to find your car gone and the towing company that towed and sold it charged me 2500 dollars for a vehicle i am not driving. I also kept recieving mails and threaten letter from County Financial to repo my vehicle and sue me for not paying on time. I told them that i was gone and they shouldve answered the lien letters that the people sent out to them. They also use to sent me letters stating that they will help me during situations like this. Where was there help when i needed them.

So i contacted a representative name Juan and another rep name Elizabeth to help me out they keep giving me the runaround and came to find out that they did recieve the letters from the towing people but never responded to it. They would leave messages on my phone and call me on unavailable numbers but when i do return their phone calls and leave messages and never got a return call from them. They promise to update the status on my credit report to current and every time i check it keeps getting worse. It comes form 30 days to 40 days to 90 days and then to past 90 days past due.

They would not give me a definite address to visit them they keep give me the runarounds and then till this day i am still recieving threatening letters from them to charge insurance and repo my car. I dont think they update their systems. I paid 5000 on this loan and now the car is gone they are still charging me. I find it also the banks fault that they didnt keep up with their accounts. They are quick to harrass you but wont help you out. Please help me out i am still serving in the military. I dont think i should keep paying for what is not mine anymore.. I also need the harrassing phone calls and letters to stop

NO, do not bother reading the FDCPA which is the Fair Dept Collection Practices Act, as it only applies to 3RD PARTY DEBT COLLECTORS. In other words, if you had a contract with Country or anyone for that matter, they have the right to enforce the collection of their assets (yes, they may use vulgar language, threats, numerous phone calls) because they are the 1st party. This act only applies to the practices of companies or people that have been retained by the 1st party, so in that... Don't waste your time.
If your credit is not so good and you have one of those high interest loans, than consider making the payments ON TIME for 6 MONTHS, then re-finance thru a bank or credit union.
The best advice anyone gave me was a lady at a bank. I was about 23 years old, trying to get a loan thru a bank and instead of laughing at me and telling me there was no way in He** I would qualify, she simply said, "Take 2 years and work on your credit, and then come back and show me"
Dangit, I hated paying all of those A-hole collectors, but bit by bit I picked away at it, and 2 years later I did go back to that lady with a 700 credit score...
She had no idea what I was talking about.

I have also been harrased by this company and think that all the victims of the company should file a class action suit.

Post or Base JAG office. Take all your documentation with you and ask them what legal recourse you might have.

It may be too late now to envoke, but the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act might give you a course of action. You need compentent legal advice from someone familiar with this Act. I would start at your installation JAG office.

Good luck.

UPU,

heres some advice for you, i am currently in this same situation with these crooks, but it took a lot of detective work on my part to even find them, they opperate under a ficticious business name "COUNTY FINANCIAL SERVICES" there registered business license name is "AUTOMOTIVE FUNDING GROUP" It is registered and owned by a man named MITCH LEYTON , there new C.E.O. is MICHAEL MCROBERTS and they are located at 5255 e. HUNTER AVE. ANAHEIM, CA. we actually had to go down there (a 300 mile drive for us) and track them down. I personally stopped paying them after they took our car, and told us they werent, they were unwilling to work with us and i was terribly harassed to the point of tears.all they wanted was more and more money.

Do not trust them and my advice would be to save all the letters they send you and write the date you get them. the next step you should take is seeking legal advice, your not alone and if enough of us start this process we can stop them! also contact your district attorney, the more complaints the better this will catch up to them!! most of all PROTECT YOURSELF!

P.S.
You should read through the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION ACT it may pertain to you. feel free to ask any other questions, i am in the middle of a lawsuit with them!

STAY SAFE AND GOOD LUCK ,
