There was a sticker on the Courier Journal that I bought in the store offering Sunday-only home delivery for just $1 a week if you use your credit card on cjpromos.com/99

Within days my credit card number was stolen and being used to order stuff through the mail. It might have been a coincidence, I can't prove anything, but even finding someone at the Courier Journal who ever knew anything about cjpromos.com website was almost impossible.

So I started to think maybe the sticker on the paper was some kind of scam. I sleuthed around the Internet and found 4 or 5 websites related to this website, with different addresses, non-working websites and phone numbers. I became very concerned.

I finally found someone at their parent company Gannett who verified that this was indeed one of their websites, or at least third-party contractor for them. But they had no interest in trying to find out if they had indeed stolen my credit card number.
