On May 1, 2019, I received a call from Coury Plumbing based on a request submitted to Home Advisor to repair outside faucet leak.   Luke and Adam Coury showed up at approximately 5:30 pm and I showed them what had been done to repair the leak.

Originally, the person I hired to fix the leak opened the wall up because the leak was inside the wall and there was no way to repair it without opening the wall. That person’s plumbing caused a back bedroom to get flooded, so I cleaned the mess up and went to Home Depot to purchase the fittings and copper pipe I needed and proceeded to fix the leak.

Not knowing if I had put the pipe in correctly, I was grateful to have a professional look at it.   To my surprise the copper pipe I installed was left in place,   Coury Plumbing welded a piece of wire to hold the faucet up and removed the shut off valve I purchased and replaced it with a cheaper one. It was getting dark and since I had no back light Adam said they would return to fix the wall. I went ahead and paid him $250 which I thought was more than enough to compensate him for what he did and to repair wall.

We went back and forth with e-mail and text, Coury Plumbing would set time to come out and never show up.   Since I was getting no where, I was on the Internet when I ran across a web site called “My $2,120 Experience With Coury Plumbing” which was so much like what Coury Plumbing had done to me and it stated that they were not licensed in Arizona.   Just to make sure I contacted Arizona State Contractor’s Licensing to find out that Coury Plumbing, Luke Coury and Adam Coury were not licensed. Home Advisor and their business card says Coury Plumbing.

When asked about the license, I received this remark “I don’t know what the problem is here it is perfectly legal to do handyman work under a $1,000 so there is nothing I did wrong”.
