Airconditoner heat pump was recomended by Custom Climate Concepts for our home.  Promised us a $1500 rebate on income taxes.  Not!!!

It was installed September 14, 2009. Twittle De and Twittle Dumb installed it and 20 fixes on it latter, I am setting here on a Saturday again with out air condtioning.  Most of the time it has stopped working on the weeked.."Wait for repairs on Monday".

My health requires cool air.   That means I have to stay in bed room with a room airconditioner until they show up to try to fix it again.

I am requesting a new airconditioner heat pump that we can count on...What can we do??????

Problem Solved

I would like to start by saying that the proposal that was signed by this consumer does not indicate anything about a rebate.  In Florida, you must purchase a high efficiency system (which he did), the home must be your homesteaded residence, and you must file taxes.  It is the consumer's responsiblity to file for their rebate.  Customers are only told if the UNIT qualifies, not if the customer does, as we have no way of knowing their financial situation (if they file taxes or not).  However, he did receive a FPL rebate.

Also, as far as the problems with the system, it was troubleshot and eventually fixed.  In Florida the older homes are built on shell and sand.  They used copper pipes that were not wrapped, or they used PVC.  What we eventually discovered was that the shifting of foundation materials (sand or shell) wore a hole in the copper line set under his home.  This had nothing to do with our expert installation.

It is a rare occurence that happened.  It is usually a water line that leaks.  We installed a new line set which included new copper lines from the air handler to the outside condenser, and included a lineset cover over the outside copper to protect it.  This was all done at the company's expense.  Most companies would have thrown their hands up and walked away from this troubling situation.  We did not.  We worked diligently to find the problem and we fixed it.

Since this time, we have done additional work at this consumer's residence, to his satisfaction.
