I am an experienced driver. I talked to their recruiter Kelsey. I came on my own dime. Promised $100.00 ORIENTATION PAY AFTER THE COMPLETION OF ORIENTATION. NOT TRUE.Orientation is a series of stories of how Michelle Smith, the orientation instructor met her husband. Daniel is a good guy. Peanut butter and jelly is really your lunch one day. CHOICES? Orientation completed, no $100.00. Assigned a Fleet Manager, Ricky Harriston, not there when I was assigned, out for the week. The hotel is nice. For diner, different menu than "regular guests. U have 5 choices 1)club sandwich 2) chef salad 3)grilled tilapia 4) hamburger 5) pizza. Michelle Smith, is the prize of Covenant,to let her tell it; her stories will include her knocking her truck out of gear going down a mountain, leaving the scene without telling the shipper or Covenant, she tore up their dock and her tel door and that she does have a " Black friend", she is so proud that. I am sitting at the Clarion hotel, Desoto Texas, arrived Sunday August 17,2014 2day thursday August 28, 2014, they say my truck is ready now, but they said that this past Monday, I checked out, threw my food away in the refrigerator, truck dirty, not detailed, filthy mattresses. NO NEW MATTRESS (for me?) BEWARE OF MICHELLE SMITH- SMITHM@COVENANTTRANSPORT, she lied to me and on me. Poor poor trainees, I will be alright, I got experience. ........RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN. STAY AWAY EXPERIENCED DRIVERS. JUST TRYING TO HELP.WASTED 2 weeks, spent more than $200.  Terrible company, I have more than 20 years experience, I thought I had seen the worst but Carroll fulmer and Covenant running neck and neck. The people in administration are great actors, they had me fooled...." I understand..." don't waste your time....RUN!!!!!THAT COW MICHELLE SMITH SENT IAN E-MAIL THAT THE TRUCK BEEN READY SINCE TUESDAY. THANKS FOR THE NEW ANUS.

just surfing this website out of curiosity, good thing they let people set the record straight. I hope the majority of visitors have the gift of discernment because most of these reports are obviously BS.

o rly. If you truly cared about the drivers, why was i terminated for one minor accident. That was understandable. That i reported to the police and to company. I believe that covenant was a great company before i found out i was just a f* number. I work my a*s off to get into that position and i was terminated for one minor accident. I glad that i did not hurt anyone in that accident. I don't understand if they know that my livelyhood(food, money, place to stay and sleep) why was i treated so poorly from vice president andy vizcent. his the one that decided to terminated in one of the committees. My manager knows im a productive safe driver, and mistakes happen im only human but i do my best to stay safe, i never wanted to be in a axcidennt or put people in harms way. But it happen but thought your company does not see that. They let me A driver(GO) for one tiny minor accident. I love this company until how they treated me. This company does not care sorry thats the truth. You guys don't care about your drivers. Its proven im an example. A good driver terminated for a small mistake that i did not had any intentions doing. i said i was sorry to the other driver and i did not mean to do it. That truck got fix the same day, both companies knew about the accident but still i got terminated. My desire to be successful and my dreams to grow with this company was destroyed. You guys destroyed my future and my health mentally and physically. My quality of life was from okay to poor. I nothing to look forward too anymore. I have to work painfully hard to find another driving job. Painfully hard. thanks alot COVENANT, INTERGRITY, RESPECT AND RESPONSIBILITY MY a*s. HOw about COVENANY DESTROYER OF LIVES. DONT care about you are just a money make for us. f* you life. we care about money instead of the american dream. great job covenant rly.

I don't believe for a moment you have 20 years of experience. Your immauture attitude, language, and all around "complaint" shows that much.

You clearly don't listen at all. First off you didn't know to go to the shop for a new matress. Secondly you didn't listen when they told you how to email people at Covenant (it's NOT the entire last name and first initial). So great job on the fail to give out her email address LMAO.

I've been with this company 6.5 years now. 8 Months company driver the rest owner operator. I've never had any real big problems with this company. I get miles, I get home when I'm supposed to, and I get help when I need it no matter what the problem is. The problems I did have were always resolved, but I did of course use the proper chain of command to get them resolved.

You sound like things didn't go the way you expected them to and now you want to blast the company for it. That's now the way this industry, or life works. Grow up!

Joe

This is a rebuttal to the above report-I do welcome new drivers with my history at Covenant Transport. I feel that it is proof positive that there is alot of room for growth for drivers here.(I started as a driver here) It is important to me that our new drivers see that and know they are are not just "another body"

I do share previous history and a couple of my personal experiences as a driver (I drove for 7 years) As a driver, you have to be prepared for any situation. At the most, the situations that I have shared with a class were meant as cautionary examples.

Drivers do get sack lunches during class (catered) Covenant provides our orientation drivers with a full breakfast ( made to order) and a full supper (also made to order). I feel the menu offered at the hotel is diverse, and offers something for everyone. With a large breakfast offering and a large supper offering,it would be excessive to provide a large lunch. I do try to accommodate special requests.

$100 orientation pay-you ARE paid $100 for orientation-with your 1st trip. I do not hand out $100 bills to each driver upon orientation completion. You have to run a trip in order to receive a check ( and the $100) Please realize-this money is a token-we feed to you 3 meals per day while in orientation and we put you in a very nice hotel for your stay.

I don't know what to say about the racial comment.I have many friends,of all nationalities/race. So I won't comment on that further.

If you will see the picture, the person who took this pic(in the pic with me) seemed very happy in class and even put the pic on her facebook, with a caption about how great it was. Now I am on ripoff report. :(

I won't dignify the name calling with a response, except to say it is rude and unprofessional.

New mattresses-this is for anyone at Covenant being assigned a truck-all you have to do (as explained to drivers)to get a new mattress is to go to the service counter in the shop. (You do have to go to the shop for this)

The person that wrote this report had multiple issues that held her up.I will not go into detail,as it is personal information. I came in to my office on Saturday to try to get her taken care of. I then drove to the hotel to give her the paperwork that needed her attention before we could get her going. She did not answer phone or room,so I asked the front desk to give her the envelope with specific corrections. I am not sure what more I could have done.

Drivers-Covenant has been good to me,and I do thank God that I am able to help drivers every day. We are offering top pay and a great place to work,if you are looking to work. Our drivers are very important to us.I know, because I was one. Students-we have a great training program, and our recruiters would love to share it with you.
