Complaint Review: Cow Palace

After seeing several commercials on TV advertising a liquidation at Cow Palace, I thought I would check it out. When I had seen the commercials they showed a lot of name brand products that where supposedly to be for sale, but that was by far not the case. When I arrived at Cow Palace 1/17/10, I had to first pay a $10 parking fee. When I saw the building, it was gigantic, so I figured I was going to see an endless amount of heavily discounted products, so I didn't mind the parking fee. When I went into the building my anticipation was growing and I saw there was a $8 admission fee; $18 total. Once again, I didn't mind paying the fee because I thought it was going to be worth it. One red flag that caught my attention was the non-refund fee for admission. I've been to many swap meets and liquidation sales, but they rarely charged, and when they did, it was for very small fee; usually $0.50-$1.00. So the non-refund sign struck me odd.

When I saw the products and merchandise for sale, I couldn't believe I had been tricked. This place had nothing but fake, knock off merchandise, such as fake IPods, antiquated laptops, overpriced stereo systems that where no names, cheap jewelry, ugly and cheap clothing,  etc. The size of the event was incredibly small, probably less than 8000 ft or less, which is extremely small for these types of events. I couldn't believe the folks would charge for this. I will never ever attend any of their future events, at least, when it comes to liquidations and sales. Don't trust Cow Palaces liquidation sales because they'll rip you off!
