Complaint Review: Cox Communications

I have used Cox for cable and internet services in Chandler AZ for the past 7 years.  unfortunately they are the only choice I have.  Sometime my internet connection speed works as it should. Every few months I will see my Internet Speed drop and fluctuate.

I started experiencing this issue 5 years ago.  Usually I have to call several times and the internet will eventually get working as it should.  I suspect they are throttling the signal.  On my last complaint although they had yet to rectify my problem they offered me to upgrade my service.  I already pay $54 for subpar performance and speed.  They offered to speed up my internet if I upgraded my plan to the $65 plan.

So they can't deliver the speed I am currently paying for, they claim it must be a wiring issue in my house.  Although about 4 years ago I spoke to a tech who was able to fix my problem by increasing the signal strength on his side (Cox).  Unfortunately no other rep has ever offered to do this for me and now deny that it's possible.  

Either way Cox can control the signal strenght to ensure I receive my appropriate speeds and choose not to.  I know from several conversations with different reps and the ones that have been able to help me in the past that they are easily capable of throttling signal strenght.  Although it seems that most recently they are not doing it or took that capability from the reps.  I just want to get the proper and correct speeds that I paid for.

I know how frustrated I get while waiting for internet pages to load or downloads to finish, and I don't want anyone to have to deal with that frustration! I want your services to work just as I expect my services to work when I get home, and I want you to get the internet speed for the tier of service that you pay for.

I apologize that you've been experiencing such chronic speed issues with your internet and that we have not adequately addressed the issue. I'd love the opportunity to take a look at what's happening and get the right people involved so we can resolve this for you!
