This issue is driving me crazy! Cox Cable has been slamming ads in the Phoenix market for about a year now. What I mean is, when you are watching 'commercial', network TV and an ad comes on you'll see about 30 seconds of the ad and then SLAM! Cox will shover their stupid commerical in. Usually the ads with the irritating family and Dad with the enormous head. Or their useless home security service or their ads with the little dough boy characters. None the less, this is driving ME nuts! I thought perhaps I was just grumpy BUT when I visit friends at their households and they are saying the exact same thing, OK! I am not nuts.

Who else out there has noticed this?

Also, what about the other advertisers that have paid for ads only to have COX slam their ads over theirs! I pay COX for my cable and have to watch their ads?! Is this legal? How can we stop them?!

Pay attention. Really. It won't take long.

Please make a comment- tell me I'm crazy or better yet, share your frustrations. Perhaps some young, gutsy attorney will grab ahold of this and run with it. Class Action, anyone?

 Hi There!

What you've described is called commercial clipping. It usually happens when local commercials are inserted into predetermined time slots in place of national network ads. While the process should be seamless, occasionally the timing isn’t exactly right.

I get really annoyed by this, too, so I truly apologize! We have a team of folks that specifically investigate and address commercial clipping and work to adjust the ad timing. Whenever you see instances of commercials cutting off or overlapping, feel free to email my team at coxhelp@cox.com. Please include the date and time the clipping occurred, the channel number, a brief description of the commercial, the name of the TV show, and your city and state.

Sincerely,

Becky K.
