Cox Communications Credit card rip off fees Phoenix Arizona
Beware of the billing dept of Cox if you think you are doing them a favor by allowing them to charge your monthly bill to your credit card.
As we all know, a common characteristic of credit cards is that they pass their expiration dates or are replaced when lost or stolen.
So you would imagine that when a company uses your card for billing, they would let you know when they find the card is declined, and ask you for a new one (a simple email for example - this is an internet provider after all).
However, Cox imposes a fee of $25 to type in a new credit card number. If you complain and ask to speak to a supervisor, you are told (very nicely) that they are not permitted to transfer callers to supervisors, but can put in a request for someone to call you back within 48 hours. 7 days later I am still waiting.
I consider this a major rip off. Besides the Ripoffreport, I am filing a complaint with the BBB, and have also written to the editor at the Arizona Republic.
