I signed up with cox cable internet with my new name, but I got a bill, which was with my old name. I received mail about a promotion: phone and cable TV cost $19.95 plus $10.00 discount on cable internet and I called for it. Their spokesperson said that if I pay $5.00 more a month, I would get the premium channels for 1 year. But it was for only one month and then second month I went to cox office and show my new driver license (With my new name on it) and advertisements about the promotion. They said that it was only a one month promotion. If I had known, I wouldn't have accepted the deal. They saw the $19.95 promotion that I showed them but they did nothing about it. They only changed my plan to the normal price: TV $13.00, internet $55 phone $9.95. A few months passed by, and I called about changing to my new name which I did not bother about the price. They did not wish to change my name on the plan, so I decided to make the change to a different company.

First of all I find it suspecious that they would refuse to change the name on the account. Why would they want a now false name on the account? That makes no sense at all.

No about the bill. Did you read the fine print? Those offers are always for a limited time, than it goes up to the regular rates. Also I can garantee that it is not possible to get all the premium channels for $5/month for any amount of time. What he probably meant was you get them for $5/month EACH. Now from what you are saying it sounds like you are either in one of two situations.
1) you were not happy to discover that the rate expired, and you tried to get them to extend it. You obviously didn't read the fine print, thats your fault and will be a problem if you sign up for any service. No company would extend an offer past its experation date just because you didn't read the fine print. Read all contracts before agreeing to them. or 2) You saw an offer but waited too long and were mad that they wouldn't honor it after it expired.
