I have been in a wheelchair my entire life. It has not been by choice it is the life God has given me and I live it the best that I can. My insurance recently changed and I am forced to use Cox Home Support in Springfield, Mo.

In 2017, my wheelchair broke down and I had to call them for repairs. After jumping through all of their hoops I was told that it would be 2 to 3 weeks to receive a part that was in Tenn, and that overnighting the part wouldn't get it to town or get the work done any faster. My wheelchair is my legs and the only way that I can get around. I CANNOT WALK!!! I have no spare wheelchair. I have a job, and I am a college student.

They were unwilling to give me a loaner chair but, after arguing and fighting with them they finally gave me one. During the time that I had the chair I had an accident with the chair they loaned me. I received a concussion and was in the hospital overnight. Cox Home Support blamed me for the accident and when they called they had sympathy for me and when I told them what happened the technician laughed and hung up the phone.

In 2016, I again had to have repairs on my chair and was forced to use Cox. I was told that repairs would take 2 weeks tops. At the end of the 2 weeks I called to hear the progress of my chair and they reported that they were still waiting for the parts and it would most likely be another 2 to 3 weeks. When the parts finally arrived I got a call from a very apologetic technician who told me that he ordered the wrong parts and blamed me for having a chair that they normally do not work on and it would be another 2 to 3 weeks before my chair would be fixed. At the end of the next 3 weeks I called to find that the man working on my chair had gone on vacation and would not be back for another week and nobody knew the nature of my chair. My chair like many others is specialized to help decrease the pain in my hips and back. By the time I received my chair I had gone through 2 injections in my hip for the intense pain they had caused me.

The lady in charge at Cox Home Support cares not for any of her customers needs and just holds us all hostage. We have no way to get about our daily lives without our wheelchairs. If you have the ability use NuMotion in Springfield, Mo. They have their faults too but, they can almost ALWAYS meet a 7 day deadline.
