I got a very rude call from a company claiming to be collecting for HSN. I did make a purchase from HSN on the flexpay plan via my card. When I became very ill and lost my job and had to go on disability I called HSN and made arrangements to pay. They were debiting my checking account when I made the ageed payment. I suddenly get this call on 7/7 from a company acusing me of credit card fraud and threatening to sue me.

I kept asking who I was talking to and they just yelled at me and said "you have gotten letters from us so you already know who we are". I HONESTLY had no clue what she was talking about. when I kept asking for name she yelled "we will just move forward the lawsuit" and hung up on me. I Called back, got someone else who would not identify themselves. I asked for a manager, he said he was the manager. I told him what had happend with the previous call. I explained that I had originally paid by card but that due to my situation HSN had been debiting my checking account and that the amount remaining did not match what they say I owe.

He told me to send a copy of my bank statement. I told him I would send portion pertaining to HSN. I asked for their fax number and he said he would give it but when I asked him to hold while I got a pen he hung up. I called back, got someone else, explained that I was talking to a manager who was giving me the fax number and got cut off. I asked for the fax number He said "what do you want the fax number for?" I asked again for his name, he refused to give me name or fax. He hung up on me. I called back, got the female I spoke with the very first time and guess she recognized my voice and she hung up. What kind of company is this????

Finally today 7/9, I get a letter from them dated 7/2/09, postmarked 7/6, my first contact, stating "As previoulsy notified" pretending they had been trying to reach me. So when they first called me they acted like they had been sending me letters for weeks and this was the first. fortunately my contact is my cell phone and there is a record of any and all calls to and from them including the four where I was hung up on that day and called right back. It also shows the minutes.

I asked HSN why they referred this without notifying me when I was paying but they just told me to deal with the collection agency. I can believe they hire goons like this. Can this CPS sue me??? I am filing a report with the FTC and Attorney General office in Texas and NC. Help

Never give them anything concering bank numbers and you might want to invest in a shrill whistle or even a airhorn to blow into the phone when they call you again. Hopefully it will cause permenent hearing damage...
