I purchased 3 electronic assembly line machines: a conformal coater, PCB cleaning and SMT pick and place. All used but described by the seller, Mr. Craig Curk as being in perfect working condition and well maintained. During the shipping preparations the seller already showed unreliable signs, the crating costs were almost double than the original sum agreed, then the weight and dimensions provided on which I made the total cost estimation were completely wrong, in one case the weight was triple the seller's original statement.

First to arrive was the coater, in a condition that can be described in one word: JUNK.
It is not in any kind of working condition, parts were replaced apparently before it was sold with cheaper parts, countless changes made to the machine with no records, manuals sent not corresponding with the machine, needed accessories sent not for this model and the machine wasn't flushed before storage and the material became solid in all the machine's parts. This is a machine that will cost to dispose of.

The second machine arrived a week later, the cleaner, described by the seller as a "10, in mint condition barely used". Arrived with missing and broken parts. Practically non operational but repairable if not considering the fact it was supposed to be "fully operational".

The third machine arrived a week ago, it is a pick and place machine worth 2/3 the transaction. This machine was also described as being well maintained, mint condition, a "10" and of course fully operational.
With this machine I ordered many accessories and explained perfectly what I expect.
The machine was Dead On Arrival, initially found a bad UPS, then the computer with lost settings due to a dead backup battery, broken and missing parts and missing ordered accessories. In addition the machine's configuration was not what was described and agreed. The accessories and spare parts sent are absolutely useless, most of them not belonging or not fitting this machine and others in bad condition or completely damaged.

Bringing this machine to working condition will cost thousands of dollars and even then it will never be possible to have it in the needed configuration.

The total transaction was $30525 paid to the seller plus the overseas shipping costs approximately $10000, resulting in a total loss of more then $40000.

I tried with no success to contact the seller in order to resolve the issues but he ignores my emails.

A very bad adventure, raising many questions about the reliability of internet deals even when the seller is an established business, we spoke on the phone and had numerous email exchange during the negotiations.

Mr. Curk.... Perhaps you can show everyone any evidence about your offer to return the equipment and get a refund? Perhaps some evidence of ANY response at all from your side to my emails and numerous phone calls attempts I made?

As I started legal actions against you I can inform you that the equipment is stored in good conditions and held as evidence. Even this costs me money. If you want it back I will be glad to send it.

You are simply taking advantage of the fact I am in a remote location and at least from your point of view you believe this will help you go away with this fraudulent transaction.

I only regret I believed you and didn't checked BEFORE making any business with you, when I checked after that I found other victims of yours describing identical stories.

Here is only one example from another client of yours complaining, you also offered him a refund?

Purchased a used (2005)Pick & Place machine at the end of 2012 for ($62K+)our electronic assembly line. The original photograph that was shown to us & what we agreed on & accepted was not the one that was delivered. Was suppose to be fully refurbised, should have been able just to plug & play & it was not. Was also suppose to be from the United States but it came from overseas. Want only what was agreeded upon & fully paid for.

It seems this is your way of doing business.

I stand behind everything I sell and this is no different. I offered to refund his money but I requested he returns the machine first since  he is overseas. He refused.

Glad to see the Ripoff Report works

Unfortunately since my experience with Mr. Curk I found at least one more report from another client of his.

No video was ever received and the photos sent were all taken from other internet web sites dealing with used equipment (e.g. bajabid). I had no involvement with the packing method, however the seller requested more money as he estimated the cost wrong. He claimed all the way that the crating is made by professionals. He also estimated the size and shipping weight wrong, while one of the machines was packed in an oversized box all of this resulting in highly increased shipping costs.
None of the machines were damaged in shipping, this is a ridiculous idea he came out with from his immagination. The shipping cost included insurance, if any damage was caused by shipping I could claim the insurance.

The Nordson coater is absloutely not in working condition, starting with missing/ unfittable parts and ending with the fact the machine is filled with rock hard material because it wasn't flushed when stored. The machine was changed with no records and the computer operating system is an old DOS based type while it was sold as being Windows.

The AAT washer is not functioning at all, essential parts missing and the delicate spray bars broken. They were broken because they were old and weared, in addition heavy parts were placed in the washing comprtment by the "proffesional" craters. No insurance won't cover damage due to improper packing and this has nothing to do with the materials used. The machine cannot be used and it is impossible to get parts for it.

The most expensive machine, A Quad QSV assembler was sent in a configuration different from the description and it arrived DOA (Dead On Arrival) it won't even turn on. We found a bad UPS unit causing the problem and following we discovered that many parts are damaged - just a few examples: the up looking camera illuminators one disassembled and placed in one of the machine's compartments (just to explain this was not due to shipping, it was intentionally disassembled), the internal illuminator missing at all. The machine's Z-Rods bended, defective nozzle changers and the list is long. The accessories sent look like take from some junk box, feeders were supposed to be IQ type and all working, we received a mixture of non IQ, half of them in non working condition and 10 of the 8mm type missing at all. A qualified techinician explained that this machine's configuration was changed before it was sold, an M30 tray changer was removed but the software wasn't updated, the machine arrived with half of the rear empty and some none related feeder bases sent in boxes.

The machine is not working until today, exactly as the other 2.

I am glad to see Mr. Curk responded to this report, too bad he didn't bothered to respond to my emails and attempted phone calls where I offered him to solve all the issues by sending the needed parts, despite the fact that by even doing so we still expect a substantial repair cost which we never discussed about as what we are looking for is working equipment and minimizing damage.

Mr. Curk NEVER responded any of my emails sent after he shipped the equipment.

Meanwhile, as I never received any answer I contacted a lawyer in his area from which he is going to hear soon. My offer is still valid, he is welcome to contact me, solve the problem and avoid further expenses. I have no intention to let him go away with more than $40,000 damage caused.

Equipment Rebuttal

This report is false and could not be further from the truth. The customer  got what he ordered and photos and videos were sent of the machine(s) prior to shipment which he approved. The machiens were in VERY nice condition and working prior to shipment.

The customer wanted to go with cheap materials via shipping. The machines traveled via the ocean. Two of the machines, by his own admission showed up in good working condition. The third was damaged in shipment. He was not pleased with this and wished to blame me.  I did email him back.
