I received my billing statement from Crate and Barrel based in Chicago, with a charge for $178. There was no description of a product purchased, no store location, no transaction number, nothing!

Knowing I didn't make any purchases, I contacted the company. I was told that during a change in their billing system, a number of customers were mistakenly billed for things not purchased. I was promised it would be taken of my account, and they apologized for the inconvience.

Surprise! The next month I received another bill, this time with a FINANCE charge for the mystery item I never purchased.Another phone call, on hold, talked to 'supervisor'. This tome they said they had no idea why this was on my account, and would send it down to there research desk. Some one will get back to you, they promised. No one did.

Two more bills, two more finance charges later, many phone calls later, same old song and dance of change in the system .The last phone call 'Jason" told me "Yeah, it was really messed up! Lots of people's charges were put on other peoples accounts, and some who purchased things were not billed at all. Isn't that funny?" No, not really.

Still no resolution. Supposedly 'Victoria" is fixing it, but because "so many peoples accounts were messed up", it will take a while.

I just bought a new house that needs tons of furniture, and because of this mind-numbing waste of my time, endless non-resolution,and frustration,I cut up my card, and will never purchase another item from Crate and Barrel.

Janet,
Crate&Barrel is not responsible for the billing error on your Crate&Barrel account.
They do not run their own credit card like some other stores do.

So why don't you call the credit card company that sends you the bills and stop harrassing the kind and helpful employees at Crate&Barrel stores ? The only mistake Crate&Barrel has made is choosing an incompetent company to run their credit card, from which the have since switched.
