I perchesed my van 2/20/08. I am single mother of four and I needed a safe care to transport my to and from school and me to work. I had been to a coupel of major dealers but I realy didn't have a lot of money and my credit.....

well wasn't bad I just didn't have any so I want to a small time dealer In the city and told him my situation they seemed like ok pepole they helped me get my van for 8,788 I mad sure that I lissond to evrything they said so that it wouldn't be any missunderstanding so I thougth. about a month later I stated having problems batery, heat, ligths, ect littke thing like that stated going wrong I took it back to the dealer to ave them fix but I was told It was past the dealers warnty to get them fix I had to pay out of pocet then about a week later the some belts in the engen went up and the somthig in the gas tank and the warenty was surrpos to cover but it so many loop holes the It would ony cover it if it broke a sertin way.......

so once again I had to pay $575 out of pocket once again just my luck it happens around the time the payment is due this is when I find out what I realy have gotten in to I call the finance company to explane the situation I told them that because I have had to put out so much so soon that I would pay the money in to weeks in full well got no help Iwas told that is was nothing that they could do they still expected the pay ment on time of cours I couldn't pay all for it and they cut my car off in ten days Ia asked them how could they do that they said I argreed to It but I was told that the device in my car was to be use if it was stolin not if not paid on time .......

I still had to work my childern still had to go to school they didnt care. to make thing worse the day I was going to pay in full my car was repoed at 2am I had to pay and additional $400 in repo fees alonge with my $320 payment. so now Im in the hole and I have only had this car 2 1/2 months on top of that I had some one go over the contract and I found out that I was charge a interst rate of 24% that my eigth thousend doller car is now going to cost me a little over 17,000
and the every time I was late this would happen.

I tried to file a case with lemond law but my car did not fall under the law. It is one and a half year later I Im still putting out money for this car I took my care to car max last week and they told me I have too much negitive equaty in my car yes I still owe $8000 on this car. I want to tell them to just take the car but I need it and I have put so much into this car I will be the one who lost out .......... if any one out there know a lawyer that can help meplese let me know.

Credit Acceptance is a Sub-Prime Lender, and actually one of the lenders of "Last Resort". In that when the dealer attempts to find a lender, everyone else said NO. So if they were stopped you probably would not have gotten a loan from any other lender. Or if you did the terms and/or interest rate would have been similar.

Now, your issue with the car is between you, the dealer and the warranty company. The lender just let you borrow the money, they have nothing to do with repairs. Since you had to pay the mechanic the money, why did you not give them the same story and see if they would work out something? The reason is that like CAC they are a business and expect to be paid based on your agreement. With CAC it was that you would pay them back the amount borrowed plus interest, with the mechanic it was that you would pay for the work performed. Had you not paid the mechanic you would not have gotten your car back. As you found if you don't pay CAC they come and get your car. So where is the RoR on the mechanic who was uncaring about your situation?

Also, since you seem to be very new at this. If you just give the car back they will still come after you for the loan balance. So it won't go away. And yes this would go for any lender as well.
