Credit Champion ripoff New York New York
On July 16, 2004 I say an ad in the paper to grant loans to people with credit problems. The name of the company is Credit Champion, with an address in New York, N.Y. I called Credit Champion, and made an application.
I was told that the loan would be for $5,000.00, but because of my credit, I would need a co-signer, the title to my car or cash to secure the loan. I sent $515.00, by Western Union, to the lender (Carol Sutherland, in Toronto, ONT, Canada).
These funds were received by Carol Sutherland. I was told the loan could not be issued until the remainer (another $516.00), was received by Carol Sutherland. Each time I sent my money, it cost me $50.00 in Western Union fees. (Now I've sent $1,131.00).
Still no funds have been deposited into my account, so I call Credit Champion. I'm now told that I sent the money to the wrong person, and Carol Sutherland did not receive the funds; that the lender (Carol Sutherland) sent the funds to the wrong person and had to pay $400.00 to "recover" the funds - and that the loan will not be released to me until I send $200.00 (half of what Carol Sutherland had to pay to recover the funds).
I told them I was not sending any more money, and that I did not want the loan. I told Credit Champion that I wanted them to return my money. I have not heard anything from them, and now when I call I have difficulty reaching anyone.
I have documents outlining the loan and the monthly payment. The CEO of Operations is a Mr. Melvin Templeton, and the Service Consultant is a Mr. Anthony Thomas. I also talked to a young lady named Renee. I also have copies of all documents regarding this loan.
Please try to help me recover my money. Thank you.

You were scammed and when they found out how easy you were they tried two more times. These are the rip-offs I read about on this site that really break my heart. I hope your situation only gets better from here. NEVER pay money upfront to secure a loan or credit card.
