Credit Champion ripoff New York
Credit Champion ran an ad in the newspaper to issue loans to people with credit problems. I called and applied. I was told that I qualified for a $5,000.00 loan, but I had have a co-signer, my car title or secure the loan with cash.
The cash security would be $1,030.00, and that I would need to send it the lender, a woman named Carol Sutherland, in Toronto, ONT, Canada.
I sent $515.00 (on 7/21/04), and $516.00 (on 7/22/04) - plus Western Union costs of $50.00 each transaction ($100.00).
When no money was deposited into my account, I called Credit Champion and was told that Carol Sutherland had not received the $516.00, and that I had sent it to the wrong person.
The lender (Carol Sutherland) had to pay $400.00 to recover funds sent to the wrong person - and she would not release the funds until I sent half of the $400.00 that she paid.
I told them that this was a scam, that I no longer wanted a loan from them and that I wanted my $1,131.00 returned to me.
I have not heard from Credit Champion, and when I call their telephone line is always busy. I need my money. Please help me to get my money back.
