A person by the name of "Garrett Lucas" representing the Credit Education Group called my house and my daughter answered the phone. He told her she qualified for a Visa card. She just turned 18 and is (was) naive about phone scams. The guy managed to get her checking acount number and the last four numbers of her social security number before she hung up. The man called back a few minutes later. I answered the phone and he yelled at me, telling me that my daughter was rude for hanging up on him and that "her verification is in the trash!"

I told him it was unethical to ask for personal banking information on the phone, and he became irate again. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he claimed that the call is monitored by his supervisor.

When I asked to speak to the supervisor personally, "Garrett" claimed that his supervisor was too busy and the man just hung up. I've contacted my bank because my daughter's account is a joint account with me. I also filed a complaint with the BBB. I just want people to be aware of these scam artists and the type of scum they employ. I hope nothing happens but if it does, I will be back with a new complaint!!
