I just received a call from a company who stated they were "Credit Enhancement", stating I was qualified for a $2500.00 credit limit for a credit card.

I just applied to a credit card company 3 days prior thinking this was part of it. They verified my address & name, (they had it) and asked if I had a checking account for the past three months (which I thought was odd) and if I made over a certain dollar amount which I said yes.

So he said it would be a one time activation fee of $297.00 and I told him the credit card I applied for did not have ANY activation fees. He said I did not apply for a card with them, that they got a declined credit info. so they were offered me one.

I said then I don't need a credit card if I have to pay out. He got angry with me and said how was I going to rebuild my credit. I told him I had two car loans & a mortgage that's how. He said i'd better give him my checking acct info. cause I needed to get their card.

Then I asked more questions and he hung up on me. I thought that was weird if they wanted my business why would they hang up. A fraud possibly? Then I found this website and all these rip off reports match excactly what they were asking me to do, only they didn't like that I wasn't giving in and hung up.

Never give your acct. info over the phone, if there is a charge they should bill it to the credit card. BEWARE of CREDIT ENHANCEMENT!!!
