I have had this credit card for several years.  I have become unemployed and simi retired trying to get a job. I thought I would use the Credit Protect that I had been paying for some time. They said I qualified and were going to help me. They paid only for one month and I wasn't notified that they stoped the second month.  So after recieving their phone call I immediately paid for two months. Telling them that I thought the credit protect was going to help me. they said I never sent a paper to them that I had not received. I ask them to email it to me as I live in a remote area. They said that they would and never did. I tried making a payment on the phone and they switch me to some music and let me just sit there. So I hung up and called again to make a payment as the on line wasn't working. I fell I am being sabatoged. I called back and tried to make a payment than they said I had to pay an extra nine dollars. Than they said he would help me and after hung up on me again. The web site will not take my id and password, and is closed till next week. I keep calling the phone number that says on the statement that it is 24/7  which is not true and they will not help me. They want to make me late and derrogatory. Do not do business with them as they are scammers.

Solution for you

#2Consumer Comment

Sun, June 14, 2015

First, I want to clarify that I don't work for Credit One or any credit card company. I am a consumer that might have a solution for you.

Credit One is a subprime card. They get pretty aggressive on collections. As far as I am aware, Credit One is owned by Credit One Financial and Credit One Financial is owned by Sherman Financial Group, a huge debt collector. You can look up the information on line to verify. Make sure to check legitmate websites for your information.

Now, to your specific issue:  Those credit card "protection" services are not worth the money you spend on them. There are more exclusions for this type of insurance. You would have to read the specific policy to see exactly what is covered, but I bet you spent more than what it is worth.

To get current, send the payment via Western Union directly to Credit One. You will have to look at one of your statements to get the information, but at least then you will be caught up.  Yes, there is a fee by Western Union to do this. But at least then you will be caught up and allowed to use the website again. The subprime cc's cut off website access if you are behind in payments.

Once you are caught up you can come up with a overall financial plan to get out of your situation.
