Initially, when i graduated with a 2nd upper honours about four years ago, i thought that Singapore is a country base on meritocracy. Little did i realise that this place is over-ran with timid Singaporeans stiffled by dogmatic Europeans. Given that I have interacted with Westerners, both Americans and Europeans, and have been a Media Representative involving corporate advertising sales at an international level, I could conclude safely from an international perspective of Singapore that the Europeans found in Asia, also in Singapore are a group of Euroskeptics, bunch of failures from the general European socialistic order. Thereby, ejecting themselves from the system into Asia or Singapore by various approaches, i.e Expat packages or foreign employments. Bottomline for me, don't s**t at where you eat. Hence, I am disgusted by some of the Europeans flaunting there cultures here in Singapore, even in companies.
Four years after the racial ordeal, i'm still feeling the aftermath. When I first graduated in 2007, I joined Credit Suisse in Oct 2007. Coming from a background where my parents aren't Singaporean, albeit I'm born in Singapore, I certainly recognise that Singaporean are being numbed and scared to their core by the system caused by TCS, the main television boardcasting programs constantly promoting propaganda of PAP, the only ruling party in Singapore.
Now, i have always been a friendly person, also very much internationalised as I once had an Australian and German friends. Therefore, I understand the compelling nature of Germans and the laid back but effective nature of Aussies. Hence, when I was employed in Credit Sussie, I was friendly to Jean Mitchell Baron and the rest. At that point in time, I did not even know that he was the Boss of my department, as I was under another lady, couldn't remember her name now. Well, as I recognised the general atmosphere of the office environment clouded by tunnel-minded Singaporeans, and first two generations of "uncles and aunties" stifled by the government scare tactics (Just a note personally, I take pride in what the Singapore government has done in creating a First World country and a Global landscape; in case some extreme Singaporeans may mention that I am stigmatising Singapore), I tuned my social behaviour to become more quiet, as a show of respect and acclimatising to the office norm; to be quiet.
Thereon, I have no idea what when south. The Frenchman, Jean Mitchell, seemed to expect lots from me. He placed me right behind him in seating arrangement. Keeping me under his tabs, placed together with the "uncles". Its more liken to the french imperial family vs the french citizens. In this case, the french royalty is Jean Mitchell and the Singaporeans are the normal citizens; if the Singaporeans have any resistance, Jean Mitchell the royal Frenchman would place them under the guillotine. How very sad? Poor old Singaporeans always under the oppression of foreign forces, and they seem to love it. I remembered that on my last day, I guess the Frenchman has recruited another "lap dogs (made in Singapore)" of his to irritate me by constantly knocking on his table behind me. Come on, what I see is a bunch of bookworms, not streetwise enough, to be begging a Frenchman for food. Remember that those Frenchies deviated in World War 2. Spineless freaks when under pressure, just like the Singaporeans. Eventually, they did not renew my 3 months contract.
It left me with much disgust untill now. Hence, I lodged a report with the one of the governing bodies, Tripartite. They contacted Jean Mitchell. However, tripartite feedbacked to me that there is no records of me being hired there and it could be "something personal". Jean Mitchell from Credit Suisse has given full denial of any happenings. He is such a bad bad liar. If he had mentioned that there is no such record, how could it be with the slightest possibility that he "knows that it could be personal". And he is d**n right that it was personal. Now, I totally understand that there was such a huge financial meltdown (GFC) in Europe and US. Bankers in absolute denial when things fail to work.
Another case was that they love to badmouth about me with other banks, therefore leaving me with no bank employments.
Now, I beseech anyone out there. It has been proven in history that banks are only selfish enough to care for themselves, so look out for your own cash. Despite that Singapore prides itself as an international corporate playing field, I'm just sicken by smug Europeans in Singapore. Go back where you came from!!! Credit Suisse, wise up in your people management skills!!
