$14.95 charge appeared Nov 1 on Discover Card. I've never visited this site, nor signed up for any credit-related services (only free reports on annualcreditreport). Billing was "EXPERIAN *CREDITREPOR 877-297-7790 CA"

Called the number, dealt with a male with heavy hispanic accent. He first asked my name. He was unable to find "my account", then asked for my credit card number. I refused to give that, and he launched into a lengthy diatribe about how he was not permitted to have pen, pencil, paper or cell phone at his desk! Even rattled a piece of plastic into the phone, stating that was all he was allowed to have, since nothing could be written on it!

Stated that I'd report this fraud to Discover directly, to which he replied "well, they're going to ask you for your card number, too"! Gee, really? What a TOOL.

Distressing thing is they got (or randomly generated?) my CC number. The unwary might call them, and they now have your name, CC number, phone number (caller ID), and might also request your address for a "refund." A lot of valid info at no risk. I'd bet no refund ever appears.

Discover filed a dispute, and will check monthly for recurrence - credited back the charge.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!
