Complaint Review: Crescent Bank and Trust

Crescent Bank and Trust tricked and lied to us and victimized many consumers ..... I purchased a 1998 Chevy S10, brand new. My Mom was a co-signer on the loan, to help me astablish some kind of credit. I always had Crescent Bank as my lienholder. I was also victimized by Crescent Bank and Trust, from New Orleans. I was mailing my payments in to them in the begaining. Until they started repoting my payments late. I, since then, always pay in person in Shreveport, La. OK, that problem is out of the way! My Mom and I went in after a year and had her name removed from the loan and had it refinanced. Ok, again no problems, until I got sick and was out of work for a month. Thinking that in the loan I had the type of insurance that will cover my payments until I get better, or for 3 months. Come to find out that when I refinanced the loan the "mamanger" of this office just ran me through the paper signing proccess and really wasn't informing me of what his true intentions were. HE, on his type writer, typed an "X" marking that I was not excepting insurance. I did want that in my loan and he refused to change it after I found out asbout it. His reason for refusing to add it was because he would not have been able to refinance me otherwise. "That's why your payment are lower." Easter weekend 2000, we had a bad hail storm. Of course my truck got hit badly. I filed a report with my insurance company. I went shopping around for qoutes, that's what they wanted. They being Crescent Bank. My insurance company came out, took pictures, filed thier report and cut me a check. A check with both my name and the bank's name and went on thier way. I went in to pay my monthly note as usuasl, and again the "manager" tells me to go to a certain body shop in Shreveport. That in itself is illigal! I didn't go there to have my work done, instead I went to a "fly by night" crew that follows storm and repairs vehichles. I didn't want it repainted and I knew about how they pop out the dints. No problem right? I had the work done by the fly by nighters (was done very well). I inspected thier work and called the "manager" to come down and sign the check to pay the guys. Take into consideration that I just dropped off the rental car and I was stuck there until the bank signs the check! He tells me to bring it to him so he can take pictures. I told him that they weren't going to let me leave without payment. He tells me to find a way to bring it it him. I was so angry at this point that I was yelling at him. I replyed with, "Obviously you are not grasping the concept of these getting paid. I did not go to where you TOLD me to go. First of all, by you telling me to go to a certain shop is illigal. Second, it's my truck. SO, I advise you at this point to get your fluffy %$# out of your fluffy $%# chair and come down here to sign this %$#@^ check!" He was there in 5 minutes! OK another problem solved. Right? The calls to my grandparent started. I forgot to pay one time ONE TIME. They called my Grandparents!! Threating to come and get it! Come to find out the man who handles the loans that are late was taking payments and putting them in his desk and leaving them there. I saw one of mine from the previous month that was not posted to my account, making my payment late. Then having the nerve to say that my payment is late. I'm tired of them! I wish I could get another bank to take my loan but they have made it look bad so that nobody will touch me! Sarah Shreveport, Louisiana
