When my son lost his job and started another one, we got behind by one month on his car payment. I mailed two separate checks to cover the past due payment and the current payment. As far as I was concerned, we were caught up. Then, my son's car was repossessed. I checked my bank statement and neither check had been processed through my account.

One check had been mailed 14 days prior and the other had been mailed 7 days prior. I checked the payment sent the month before and found that it took 3 weeks for Crescent to process that payment. Instead of them now processing those checks, now they want cash for those payments plus a $400 plus payment for repossessing the car.

They say they received the payments the day the car was repoed, and since I didn't send my payments by certified mail, I have no proof of when I actually did mail them. They now know they have the checks, but are still demanding cash for the payments. They are rude. You rarely speak to them. You have to leave a message and hope that they return your call, which they often don't do. I am very frustrated and ready to let them have the car.
