There is not one specific thing that made me cancel my service with them but here are a few: 1. you can not get through to a human being on their 1-800# and they think it's funny when you complain to them about it. 2. I once had my service cut off 4 times in one dqay for no reason. The bill was paid on time and I was current. They said it was a computer error. 3. I have one friend who said somebody from their call center stole and misused his credit card number when he called to pay for his bill over the phone. It is suspected that this is a reason that you can no longer pay your bill at their offices. They employed too many crooks that stole from them. 4. Mitch, a supervisor there, explained that it was my fault that I could not get through to a human being because I was not pushing "the right buttons". If some knows a way I would like to know. 5. I also had a friend that was denied a rebate because they said he had not had satisfactory service with them, yet 2 days later they sent him a coupon for a free accessory because he had no interuptions of service and had been an outstanding customer since he started his service. I want to honestly plead with you to spend the few extra dollars and put a down payment on a service that cares like sprint, u.s cellular, or verizon. They want your buisness and treat you like a human being. Emily tulsa, Oklahoma

I am an ex employee of cricket. I am sure everyone who has one has been aware og the new changes of the fees charging 10.00 to transfer numbers and 15.00 for num change when you get the first one for free and 10.00 to change the banner in your phone. All these fees are not legal thats why they are not on the sale sheets the rep goes over with you. Cricket doesen't work on commission only network wide goals. So thats why you don't get the respect you deserve as a customer. There service is lousy and hardly anyone gets a rebate and that one million dollar contest yeah fat chance companies pay an insurance company about 35.00 a month and if someone would win the ins co. would pay it but there are no winners and why is it only new customers get rebates I think anyone who has been a loyal customer should be entitled to them to after a year of service and there customer service is a joke and very undereducated.
Be careful and no your legal fcc rights to charges

I'm not sure why you would listen to your friends and not verify things for yourself, but I would like you to know that you CAN pay your bill in the Cricket stores, over the phone and other authorized retailers. This hasn't changed. Also, what one person does (committing credit card fraud) shouldn't reflect on the ENTIRE opinion of the company. People make mistakes, even companies. I'm not here to give a lecture on judging people or making mistakes, though.

You can get to a real live person when you call 1-800-cricket if you press 2 after the intro then 4 after the menu plays. I know that Cricket's Customer Service is less that up to par but name one company that has 100% outstanding customer service. It's that wonderful thing called "Society Decay" where there are less than intelligent people out for the paycheck rather than the satisfaction of their work. As a manager, I see it everyday.

Cricket has a lot of positive things about it, too. Let me name a few:

1. For those of you who have bad credit, no credit or not a lot of money to buy an expensive cell phone, Cricket allows you to get started in life with a cell phone (most people don't leave their service area and they can call home with free long distance if they're in college).

2. Cricket's service, from all of my experience (around 2 years now) has been great with less dropped calls (2 in 2 years is pretty good) and is technically cheaper than Verizon's Freeup plan or any other service provider.

3. Cricket may not let you trade in your phone for a new one, but hey, there is Ebay and it doesn't cost very much (a couple of bucks, which can be included in Shipping/Handling for the auction) to shop the phone and sell it. You can get a good amount of money back on your phone, in some cases, more than what you originally paid.

My list of positives go on but these will do for now. I'm not sticking up for Cricket, only doing my best to educate people on the fact that there is more than just negative opinions about every company (in this case, cell phone) and that sometimes people need to step back and look at the positive side of things. Especially the youth of today (I'm in that catagory).

Also, computer errors happen and most of the kinks get worked out. I've seen a lot worse when working for American Express in the area of computer glitches.

Sprint cares less for their customers and Verizon has proven to be a ripoff after years of great customer loyalty. Sprint cancelled me in the middle of my plan (for non payment when I was current) charged me $350 in "charges" and then, after I paid them off, refuse to allow me to have service with them without a $450 deposit (I purchased my phone outright when I began service with them, which made the balance come to over $600). I currently have Cricket and Verizon FreeUp, I need Verizon for the roaming due to extensive traveling.

While I worked as a financial organizer (recently)for a business firm and a regular family, I found that Verizon, while contracted to a plan (if not paid on time) would sneak charges, double charge and over charge for regular services. You just have to find one that won't rip you off as much as the others...because, honestly, they all rip you off.
