First we were told cricket was offering a free modem. Free means a rebate but the forms are confusing & the deadlines are too. Customer service aided us in filling out the forms & advised us to mail that day. Customer service also said they were doubtful we would get the rebate. We mailed the forms that day. Four weeks later we were sent a letter that we had missed the deadline.

We were never asked if we wanted to set up automatic payments. Because we ordered service over the phone & paid with a debit card, cricket used that info to make automatic withdrawals each month. The bill was due on the 22nd of each month but they initiated payments on the 17th of each month.

Three months into the service, we received a text message through the modem that said if we paid early the bill would be half. We went to the customer service outlet to pay on the 15th & were told we couldn't because the payment from our bank account was already pending.

We called about connection problems & were told we would just have to keep hitting refresh. Then the tech support hung up. We called again; we were told the same thing & hung up on again. We went to the service center to have the modem tested. We were told it was fine & that we should probably try to use it from the second floor of our home. We live in a single story home.

Moral of the story: stay away from Cricket!
