I thought I'd try Cricket because of the flat $45 "unlimited everything" rate and no contracts. Also, there is a 30 day return guarentee, i.e. if you don't like it, they refund the price of the phone.Boy did I get a surprise.

First of all, theCapture phone Ibought looked like it was using 1980's technology. The service was horrible, numerous dropped calls, roamingin my hime town, etc. Customer service is a joke...when you do get through they are very hard to understand.Definitley not in the US, most likely India.

So I try to cancel, which was a project in itself. No matter how many times I said CANCEL they still tried to keep me on. Oh yea, that 30 day trial has some fine print; if you use the phone more than 30 minutes, it's void. No surprise. I finally let the sevice expire and ate the cost of the phone.

Now comes the good part. A short time after cancelling, unauthorized charges started showing up on my credit card. One was from a phone accessory store, which I blew off as maybe a fluke. Then in a few weeks another charge appeared. I immediately called my credit card company, who cancelled the card and credited my account.

There's no way I can prove Cricket had anything to do with the charges, but doesn't it seem VERY suspicious?

Bottom line, avoid this sham of a company at all costs. Stay with the reputable companies. Like they say, you get what you pay for.
