Cricket Wireless ripoff Phone Service liars thiefs unprofessional careless and rude El Cajon California
I went to cricket's cell phone booth in Park Plaza Mall El Cajon, Ca near the end of December. The three ladies who were working explained to me the great phone plans that the company offered. I choose to purchase a phone for $75.00 with tax included.
As the ladies prepared the phone for me I requested to have a Baton Rouge, La phone number because I would be moving back there in two days. This is why I needed the phone so wouldnt have to drive without a means of communication. I was then told that I should go into a dealer after getting back to Baton Rouge and have them change the number. I at that time said "oh wait I have never heard of Cricket are you sure you have service in Louisiana"?
One of the three ladies got out a packet with a map on it and said "the green places on the map is over coverage area". Awesome i thought baton Rouge was in the green! So I finalized my purchase.
Two days later I left and headed back towards Baton Rouge. This is a two day drive. As soon as I got about 15 minutes from San Diego my phone cut out. I basically had no service the whole way home. Everyone in my family was very worried about me.
When I finally made it back to Baton Rouge my phone had NO SERVICE. So I called Cricket. Now they refuse to refund me the money for the phone. They are telling me that I would have to drive back to the store it was purchased at tell them the problem. I cant do that b/c again that is about 1700 miles away.
I have called customer service several times. Not only will they not help me but they repeatedly give me false number to call saying that person will handle it. All thses numbers do is send me back through the automated system and then to a CSR that wont help. NOR will they connect me with a supervisor.
I was also told to go to the company website and send an email then the problem would be handled....There is no email link on the website.
I have been lied to and laughed at enough from this company. They completely took my money without telling me the truth. Now they refuse to take responsibility for the employees careless mistake. This could have been avoided if someone were not so desperate to make a sale.

Just to let you know, Cricket is NOT necessarily your problem.
First, you state that you went to a "Cricket booth" inside of Park Plaza Mall. Unfortunately Cricket doesn't have just "booths" in a mall. Cricket has full-service stores that sell ONLY Cricket phones. You went to an AUTHORIZED DEALER that sells Cricket phones. They can ONLY sell you a phone and take payments, NOTHING MORE. To confirm the address of the "booth" you went to, go to www.mycricket.com and type in the zip code 92020. It should pull up the store "Axxel Communications" @ 415 Parkway Plaza, which is the store you went to.
Second, the ladies at the booth must have shown you a "Travel Time" coverage area which DOES include Louisiana. It costs extra money to have the Travel Time feature on your phone, and is quite expensive if all of your calls are outside Cricket's "home" markets. The normal Cricket calling area is only limited to metropolitan areas and doesn't include Louisiana. On Cricket's webiste www.mycricket.com click on "Coverage Maps" at the top, then enter "California" and "San Diego" as your state and city. It will give you the calling area for the local market, as well as the Travel Time market. Travel Time market is in LIGHT GREEN, and the "unlimited" market is in DARK GREEN.
Thirdly, the Cricket reps' being rude was uncalled for. It wasn't Cricket that informed you incorrectly, it was the reps at the "booth" that you went to. Cricket cannot give you a Louisiana phone # because they do not have a local service area there.
Forthly, Cricket does have a contact email online at mycricket.com/cricketsupport/contactus. Fill out the form and someone should contact you regarding your issue.
