Worst camping ground I've ever seen! Notice... they don't show pictures on their website of the actual pull-through RV campsites! The sites are NOT spacious... in fact, you are stacked on top of each other like sardines! I Googled the Internet for Pikes Peak Campgrounds and this came up on the list because they falsely advertise that they are close to Pikes Peak attractions. NOT TRUE!

You are lucky to reach an attraction within an hour of leaving your campsite at Cripple Creek KOA. The owners were incredibly rude! There is absolutely NO CELL PHONE SERVICE at all ... and they advertise they have cell service. The area is void of trees except on the outer edge of the entire campground (which is the photo they show online). You are basically out in the open... stacked on top of and very closely side-to-side with the other campers. You are not close to any attractions... especially not Pikes Peak.

You would be much better off to stay closer to Pikes Peak or the other many fabulous attractions. There are MANY other campgrounds from which to choose! ... better-priced... and with friendly staff! I moved campgrounds because I did not want to spend the entire weekend driving back and forth to my campsite. It was awfully hard to find in the dark considering there are not many highway signs in Colorado and this place does not register on your GPS! There are BETTER ways to spend your vacation! Stay away from Cripple Creek KOA!

I was getting back on here to say I noticed I said 'cell service' instead of WiFi which is what I meant to say. Others have mentioned this online, in reviews, as well. The Cripple Creek KOA advertises WiFi service but you cannot get WiFi service while camping there. I also said, "You are lucky to get to an attraction within an hour of leaving your campsite." They advertise they are 45 min to an hour away from attractions. Not true. I drove along a two-lane curvy road for over an hour to reach places. Everything else in my post was spot-on. Still a crappy place to stay compared to other campgrounds in the area ... or even those campgrounds that are close to Pikes Peak. If you notice, the city of Cripple Creek doesn't even list this KOA on their city website. That says a LOT! All other actual resorts in that area are listed there. I should have checked that out prior to staying at Cripple Creek KOA. Live and learn.

I just looked at KOA's website for the Cripple Creek KOA.  It specifically states that Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak, and Royal Gorge are all 45 minutes to an hour away.  I never saw any claims of cell phone service, only free wifi internet.  Wifi is not the same as cell phone service.  Cell phone service would depend on the cell phone carrier anyway, as their coverage areas vary.  Finally, their pictures seemed to show the pull-thru sites and that there were not many trees around them.  It only took me about 3 minutes to observed all this.
