Complaint Review: CROSS AMERICA RELOCATION / CROSSAMERICA RELOCATION

Cross America Relocation made contact with me through MOVE123.COM to provide me their relocation services. It was completely described to their salesperson Tony @ Ext. - 707 as to what property that I needed moved. They prepared the estimate for the move and he said that it included thirty (30) days free storage, because at that time my plan was to move to Bryan, TX. He said their service was to provide three men and one truck @ $70.00 per hour. He estimated $560.00.

I changed the location that I was moving to Granbury, TX and at that time he gave me an estimate of $700.00. Three men and one truck @ $70.00 per X seven = $490.00 + $210.00 Travel time. They arrived on Sunday morning @ approximately 9:30am. They were not experienced movers and came with a truck that was too small, and after I walked the guy through my home and he guaranteed me that they would be able to put everything on that truck that day. They kept taking smoking breaks and took an hour lunch break.

I called back and ask Tony after another company told me that the time would start when the truck left their location, and he specifically told me that "the time would not start until they put their hand on the first piece of furniture". Because the truck was too small and they constantly kept taking breaks they did not leave my house until 8:30pm with the promise that they would return the next morning to pick up the rest of my property. I was told by Tony that I would only have to pay the first half of the $700.00 and the balance when they delivered my furniture to Granbury, TX. The driver in charge wanted me to pay them the total $700.00 in cash that night and did not want to give me copies of the contract nor a receipt.
