I applied for a Cross Country credit card. My credit limit was 250.00. 1st they take 150.00 off the limit, now its 100.00. After I used my card I paid every month.

Then after 3 months I received a letter stating that they are raising my percentage to 29.9 percent, which began at 18 percent. I called them and stated that is NOT what my contract said. They rudly informed me that it is now! I said well, I am mailing the card back to you and we will not be doing business anymore. I never mailed another red cent! My balance at that time was 63.00.

A few months went by and I started getting threatening calls at work, at home and they were simply driving me crazy. Then they threatened to garnish my wages, stating that I owed 650.00. I was frightened, I said, I can't owe 650.00. MY LIMIT WAS 250.00!

Then I received a certified mail that they were processing a garnishment, being a single mother of 2, who gets NO child support. I could Not let this happen. I filed bankruptcy and to this day, 8 months later I am still fighting to get them off my credit. I am sickened by a business who operates this way. They caused emotional distress and ruined my life.
