Cross Country Bank ripoffs thinks I'll put up with it too...
As of August 2001, my account with Cross Country went into collections. At that time, I took care of my obligation by arranging a settlement with the collection agent, hired by Cross Country. Cross Country approved a settlement amount, less than the balance. After paying the collection agent, Cross Country has continued to send me notices and has sent me 3 letters from their 'Legal Department'. To date, I have received 14 letters from Cross Country & their 'Legal Department'. So here we are, 5 months later and I am still receiving notices. Upon numerous conversations with the collection agent, which has informed me that I am no longer obligated to Cross Country. After arguing with Cross Country, they gave me a fax number to fax a letter from the collection agent stating the account was settled in full. I did this.
I received a letter, dated November 7, 2001, from Cross Country, stating that the above account had been settled in full. I have received approximately 9 letters dated after that November 7 date, including 3 letters from the 'Legal Dept.'. I have asked myself many times since 11/7/01, what more can I do to get the message to these people? When the third 'Legal Dept.' letter was received, it said that it was my "Final Notice". That was the last straw.
I have retained an attorney and we are persuing all avenues of legal action. I have been informed that Cross Country has continually done this to many customers. Well, I probably won't be the last, but, I am not allowing it to continue in my life.
