2 1/2 years ago I recieved a bill froim Cross Country bank for $482.00. I was puzzeled by this as I had never applied for a card from Cross Country in the past. The last name on the account was spelled wrong. I called Cross Country to inquire as to what this account was for and was told that I had opened an account and activated the card from my home number. I did not do this.

As time went on I wrote to Cross Country and asked for copies of the application that I filled out and a detailed list of the charges on this card. Of course to date I recieved zero response from cross country. That I until May of 2002.

In May I recieved a letter from Tate and Kirlin and Assoc. collection agency. It stated that CC had turned this over to them and that I owed this money. I sent them a letter asking again for written proof of my account. I was told that they could not provide this that CC would have to. I called CC to ask again for this but there are no "live" operator numbers available. They are all automated.

I at no time opened an account with CC or charged anything to a CC card. I never recieved a card. The only thing I recieved was a bill f0r $482.00 and now it is with a collection agency. I even asked CC to do a fraud investigation in which they stated they found the account to be legitimate. I asked for the proof but have yet to see anything.

Any help with this would be helpful.
