to anyone who may have a dispute on a charge with Cross Country Bank. Remember to fill out a dispute form and send it to them right away. and wait for them to call you to collect money. This is a violation of your billing rights and you can sue them for up to $1000 plus some. I guarantee you they will harass you every day for money even if it is in dispute.

You are correct in the aspect that banks cannot try to collect and any disputed charge or charges on your bill. Provided the charges were sustained by the merchant and you filled your claim before 60 days from initial charge. You also are not responsible for any finance charges or over the limit fees caused by the amount in dispute. But if you have an outstanding balance you are still required to make payments on the account until either:

A. The bank finds in your favor.
B. The merchant credits the charge.
C. You pay for the charge anyway.

Make sure when you mail back your dispute you call the bank to ensure the forms were received(you know how the mail runs). If the bank calls and tries to collect on any disputed amount they are in VIOLATION of the fair debt and credit act and report it at once to your state attorney generals office. I hope this helps.
