My son was rear ended coming off the Northbound Ramp of the Southfield Expressway on November 21, 2018 around 1-2pm.  The driver of the tow company happened to be driving by and offered assistance to tow the vehicle to Drakes Collision,(Southfield, MI) approx 4.5 miles from where the accident occured.

The car was there approx 3 days.  We had it picked up and taken less than a mile down the street to a Preferred Collision shop through our insurance company.

On or about January 20,2019, I received an email from my insurance company USAA that a payment for 1944.94 had been paid for towing.  I requested a copy of the bill from USAA which they sent.  I wanted to know exactly what the 1944.94 was for.  I received the copy there are 6 lines llisted as ADVANCE CHARGE totaling 1809.94.  I understand that the Collision shop has storage charges, but that doesn't come to 1800.00 for 2-3 days.  

My insurance company paid the bill, but I am appauled that a company can send an invoice with relatively NO explaination, just ADVANCE CHARGE. What are ADVANCE CHARGES????? I just don't understand.  This is a TOTAL RIP OFF to my insurance company which I do not appreciate.

PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY
