Complaint Review: Crossmans Service Center

I began work for Crossman Automotive on December 2, 2003 - a Tuesday and three days before the regular pay day on Friday. In other words, I did not receive a check for that week because I started after the pay period had been tallied for the previous two weeks.

I did not receive my first paycheck until December 26, 2003 and that check was for the previous two weeks only - they held back payment on the first week I worked - which they said was standard procedure and that I would receive that money if/when I ever left the company.

When I was let go on March 18, 2004, I requested my check for those initial four days and was told I had received a check on December 17th... Knowing that date was the middle of a pay period, and my boss would not have cut a check then, I asked him to fax me a copy of said check - front and back with endorsement - to prove it. The copy he faxed to me was illegible and even the highest magnification would not allow me to see the date or even if that was my name on there.

I asked him to fax me a more clear copy and he refused saying I would "just have to take my (his) word for it". He is also refusing to pay me for two days I worked on a weekend to help him out at a different shop he owns , despite a very clear agreement that he pay me a set amount for said work.

I turned in all my uniforms as required, as well as my keys. His assistant cleaned out my desk while I was gone and has kept several personal items, continuing to come up with excuses as to why he can't get them to me, despite my offer to come at his convenience to retrieve them.
